Technique for Practicing Third Eye Meditation

Wanted to know the technique for practicing third eye meditation?  Well, hope you are aware of the third eye in meditation. The third eye is called the sixth chakra in meditation, situated in between the eyebrows, a little above the nose. Through this third eye meditation, the deeper senses can be opened to observe higher dimensional worlds and energies.

Technique for Practicing Third Eye Meditation

The following is the technique for practicing third eye meditation.

  • Sit on your heels and stretch your arms at sixty degrees to your sides. Make sure that your arms are bent at the wrists. You can sit in sukh asana if sitting on heels is not comfortable. If you are not comfortable sitting on the floor then you can even sit on a chair.
  • The next step you need to do is focus on your forehead. Start concentrating in between your eyebrows. Initially you might find pressure while concentrating, but you might find great results if you practice chakra meditation regularly.
  • The next step seems to be a little hard comparatively. This step includes inhalations and exhalations in tiny parts that is, you inhale sixteen tiny parts and exhale sixteen tiny parts during this workout. These sixteen tiny parts of inhalations make one complete inhalation and sixteen tiny parts of exhalations make one complete exhalation. You can start this exercise while performing meditation. You can start off with eight tiny parts of inhalations and exhalations, if you are not comfortable with the sixteen tiny parts.
  • This is one of the most important steps of chakra meditation. Try to visualize a small silver ball striking your forehead that is in between your eyebrows. It is recommended to visualize this for every inhalation and every exhalation.
  • Initially, it may be a little difficult but once you become flexible, then this becomes easier. So, initially you can start off with 1 minute and then extend to 5 minutes and then to 10 minutes. If you practice this for a longer time period, then you might find better results and better improvement in your daily routine.
