  • A pranayama practitioner has a handsome appearance, a high standard of vitality, vigor, strength, courage, cheerfulness, good digestion and a good appetite.
  • A pranayama practitioner should take his/her food when Pingala or Surya Nadi is working, for example, when the practitioner’s breath flows through the right nostril, pingala will be heating and will digest the food faster.
  • It would be better for a pranayama practitioner not to exercise pranayama when he/she is very hungry or after eating or when the belly is in full condition.
  • A pranayama practitioner should be able to retain his/her breath for 90 minutes (three Ghatikas) at one time. Try to achieve this gradually.
  • Once a pranayama practitioner is able to retain his/her breath for three ghatikas, he/she will get a lot of psychic powers.
  • You should be guided and accompanied by a yogi guru if you want to stop your breath over a period of time.
  • You can suspend your breath with a regular and graduated exercise up to three minutes with no help from anyone.
  • Postponement of your breath for three minutes is relatively sufficient to purify the nadis, steady your mind and to have good health.
