  • Bend your knees
  • Bring your shoulders to the back and grab your ankles
  • Tuck your tailbone
  • Arch up
  • If you need variation, sway side to side

  • Tones your abdominal organs

  • A bow

The steps to perform bridge pose are as follows:

  • Spread a blanket or a yoga mat on the floor
  • Begin with lying on your back
  • Bend your knees
  • Bring your feet toward your buttocks
  • Press your hip up
  • Walk your shoulder blades underneath your back
  • Clasp your hands
  • Keep your inner thighs moving to each other
  • Tuck your tailbone

Benefits of Bridge Pose:

  • Develops your buttocks
  • Opens your chest
  • Opens your upper back

What bridge pose looks like:

  • A bridge
  • A triangle
