Bikram Yoga Poses – Benefits

Bikram yoga poses are performed in a heated room with over 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Therefore, it is also known as hot yoga. There are 26 exercises in Bikram yoga which include 24 poses and 2 breathing exercises. Usually, every pose is practiced twice and they are held for a certain time each. The best thing about these poses is, they can also be practiced by arthritis or diabetes patients. Bikram says, “never too old, never too sick, never too late to start from scratch once again.” The quote suggests that there is no necessity for you to be in a great shape while beginning the practice of Bikram Yoga poses. First twelve Bikram yoga poses are practiced in standing position, they are collectively called standing poses and the rest are performed while sitting or by lying on the floor.
