Backache, also known asĀ  pain in the back, is a common problem that affects majority of people as they get older and gradually loss the elasticity of their spine. Loss of spinal elasticity can be associated with faulty sitting and standing postures, traumas to the spine, etc. It can also occur because of excessive weight in the tummy that can put strains on the lower spinal (lumbar) region. Yoga can help in treating backache by maintaining and improving the natural posture of the spine and strengthening the muscles of our back.
