Yoga Helps Cure Anxiety

Anxiety and fear are two important psychological conditions, which greatly affect our physiological beings.

Different parts of the body such as the lungs, kidneys, and spleen etc, which ensure that our body functions effectively, are greatly affected due to stress.

Due to extreme stress and anxiety, breathing problems like asthma and wheezing occur even though there is no physiological base for it.

Extreme stress further leads to acidity and bladder problems affecting the digestive system and the kidneys.

There are several exercises of Yoga, which help combat stress by helping improve the functions of these organs.

Also meditative practices of yoga, makes one aware of their emotional state.

Poses and exercises, which require one to bend, help activate the kidneys, thus improving it’s functioning. Examples of such poses are the Bridge, Cobra and the Boat poses.

Poses that require us to bend towards the sides activate the spleen and liver. This ensures that there is effective supply of nutrients in the body. Hip opening poses like the Bound angle and the pigeon poses strengthen the liver.

Also the sun salutation exercises prove to be very useful as they ensure effective circulation of Blood. When facing lots of stress the circulation of our body is affected and we tend to become depressed and lethargic. Doing these exercises helps us alleviate our mood.

It is very important that one take the advice of an expert before going in for any of the poses.

A yoga expert will rightly guide you in terms of body allignment and structure. Doing the poses in a lackadiasical fashion will tend to harm our body only. This way we will be in a worse position than what we were before.
