The Energizing Effects of Sahaja Yoga

Founded by Nirmala Srivastava, Sahaja Yoga is a unique method of meditation based on an experience called Self Realization (Kundalini awakening) that can occur within each human being. The dormant Kundalini energy rises from the sacrum through the spinal column. As a result, the energy centers or chakras become energized or nourished. When this energy passes through the brain we spontaneously achieve meditation.

Sahaja Yoga, like many Eastern and New Age systems, claims that in addition to our physical body there is a subtle body comprised of nadis (channels) and chakras (energy centers), which look after our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being. These concepts, first found in ancient Indian scriptures, have been modified by Nirmala Srivastava.

The basic aim of the sahaja yoga practice is to provide people with a true and authentic means of personal and spiritual growth, considering that it tries to help each individual in becoming more peace loving, and therefore it is considered that practices such as this type of yoga will end up benefiting society and the world as a whole.

Health benefits

Sahaja yoga carries with it numerous physical benefits besides mental benefits, such as the alleviation, prevention and even cure of illnesses, and it also helps one to attain balance and the absolute highest level of enlightenment. A major part of the practice of sahaja yoga is to give up all self-destructive habits in life, such as smoking, drinking, drugs, and overeating, and end up leading incredibly healthy, normal, balanced, and moral lives.

Latest Scientific experiments prove that regular Sahaja Yoga meditation can prevent various physical and mental disorders  e.g.: hypertension, angina, heart attack, bronchial asthma, epilepsy, aplastic anemia and hemiplegia, leukemia, cancer, diabetes, spondylites, depression, anxiety and neurosis and migraine.
