Sometimes, work at office can drain you off all your energy. The building pressure and constant stress wears you down.
Minor things like constant staring at the computer, wrist pain and back aches can add to the already existent stress in a major way.
Here are some simple yoga exercises which will help you deal with such discomforts.
Eyestrain: Very often we do not realize the strain we are putting our eyes through while working. This is because while working, our eyes do not blink as often as they do normally, and so they tend to become dry. When working in front of the computer our eyes do not have the same range of movement as they do in other activities.
This is a yogic exercise which will help relieve eyestrain resulting from these situations.
- Rotate your eyes around in all directions. First towards your right, then towards your left, then look upward and lastly look downward. Look in each direction for a period of 5 seconds. Do this as many times as you can
Neck Rolls
This exercise is especially useful for people whose jobs require them to sit in front of the computer for long hours. Sitting for long time causes back pain and repetitive stress injuries.
This exercise is very simple to follow
- Take your shoes off before starting these stretches if you are wearing high heels.
- Let your chin drop down to your chest.
- Begin to circle your neck slowly, taking the right ear to the right shoulder, the head back, and then the left ear to the left shoulder.
- Try to keep the shoulders relaxed and not to hurry through areas of tightness.
- Take 3-5 rolls and then switch directions and take another 3-5 rolls.
The above mentioned exercises help relieve stress, increase productivity, and most importantly make you feel better. So, try them out at your work place. You may feel a bit odd initially but never mind just go ahead and try them out they help relieve stress to a great extent.
